The Connection:

Matthew Jester first put ALUM on my radar in December. After writing Alma Mater Inc., I reached out to David and we quickly got set up for a recording.

Quote of the Episode:

"One of the brokers we were working with said, 'Just by the way, there are four private jets in this room and about $30 billion in net worth.' And here we are in this townhome, tailgating and drinking Tito's and soda and high-end tequila out of Solo cups. And I was like, this is the ALUM experience right now."

Bet You Didn’t Know:

The 2023 Texas-Alabama game in Tuscaloosa drew over 300 private jet landings. For context, the Masters gets a little over 400. The airport maxed out and had to redirect overflow, and several hotels charged $2,500 to $3,500 a night.
